Dr.Chafica Mansour Gharbieh

Director, Training & Development

Dr. Chafica Mansour Gharbieh holds a doctorate degree in Education specializing in autism, Behavioural analysis and language from the UK. Over 26 Dr. Gharbieh also holds degrees in verbal Behaviour, communication using Makaton signs, method of sharing pictures exchange communication system (PECS), auditory integration training using “The Listening Program” (TLP), and also physical therapy based on Chinese medicine, "Kinesiology." She is also the president and founder of the Autism Learning Institute for Applied Behaviour Analysis (ALI for ABA) in Lebanon, and the Clinical Director of The Diagnostic Lebanese Centre for Training, Communication & Behaviour Development.

Dr. Gharbieh served as President of the Hopeful British Institution for the Education of Children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder in UK.

A study was conducted by Dr. Gharbieh for Brunel University (in 2009), UK on “The Effects of Implementing an ABA/AVB on Children with Autism and Related Disorders. The study demonstrated the efficiency of the AVB programme with ten children with autism. Its effects have been clear on the emergence of speech, collateral gains in social communicative behaviours and decrease of problems behaviours and the decrease of parental level stress. A book by Dr. Gharbieh on “The Effects of AVB in Teaching Children with Autism: Successful Tools to Learn Functional Skills in Autism” was published by Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany, New York, 2016.

Three other studies were published in international books and journals:

3. Applied Behaviour Analysis and Verbal Behaviour Interventions in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Associated Learning Difficulties” The study was published in July 2021 by Elsevier in a book titled “Emerging Programs for Autism Spectrum Disorder”. ISBN: 978-0-323-85031-5 Academic Press Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Inc. A catalogue record for this book is available from the British Library UK, and Library of Congress USA.

Dr. Gharbieh is the President of the Educational and Training Committee for Arab Network for Autism. She is a consultant for Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, conducting workshops and seminars for them in the United Arabs Emirates. Dr. Gharbieh is a consultant at SENAD Group UK providing training for professionals at Supreme Education Council SEC Qatar. She also works as a lecturer at the Lebanese International University “LIU”. Dr. Gharbieh is a consultant in education and behavioral analysis and linguistic diversity. She is a member at The Cambridge Centre for Behavioral Studies.

Radio Show: “This is our world” "ھﯾداﻋﺎﻟﻣﻧﺎ” In light of the coronavirus pandemic and economic/political crises in Lebanon, Dr. Gharbieh has hosted a radio show on Radio Tammouz as a way to provide remote tools for parents and professionals to apply at home with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. 180 episodes were aired over a six-month period (January-July 2021). These episodes were accompanied by practical training videos which shared on Radio Tammouz’s YouTube channel and ALI for ABA Autism Lebanon Facebook Group. January to July 2021.
